Is Blood In Stool Normal After Not Having Bowel Movement For Few Days?
I When to the doctor to today to discuss a digestive problem iv been having. Iv had digestion problems my whole life, but in the last few months it has progressively gotten worse. I have an active lifestyle and eat fairly healthy. Laxatives and high fiber food don t seem to work. I was given a prescription for an enema. After taking it I past very bloody stools and lots of bloody mucus ... Is this normal after not having a bowel movement for a few days and after an enema?
Blood in stool is not normal. You have problem of constipation with blood in stool.
Intestinal infection like ulcerative colitis may cause blood in stool and other abdomine problems.
Intestinal polyps may cause blood in stool problems. Diverticulitis may ruled out. Intestinal obstruction may ruled out.
Colononoscopy is helpful for further diagnosis.
Anal fissure or hemorroids may cause blood in stool. After taking enema still no bowel mocement than you can do abdominal ultrasonography for diagnosis.
Wish you a good health. Take care. THANKS.
