Is Angina An Arterial Problem Or Are Veins Also Responsible?

is angina an arterial problem or are veins also responsible . I have already have a stent, but symptom s of angina Tightness in the upper chest during exercise have recently appeared . I now have been prescribed Isosorbide mononitrate starting on 30mg and after 7 days 60mg. I am happy to continue with my surgeon, but was considering whether another stent might be the answer. I am a 77 year old male. (Most of my male family members have had and died from heart ailments) So far I feel very lucky, but want my luck to continue. Thanks for you time Eric Fry (Australia)

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Arteries indeed
Symptoms may mean block in the stent or in the native coronary arteries from progression of the disease
THE FIRST STEP IS TO SEE YOUR CARDIOLOGIST AGAIN
You may need TMT – Treadmill exercise ECG preferably with thallium isotope –to evaluate recurrent ischemia (reduced blood flow)

Take care
Good luck
