I recently have been diagnosed with High Blood pressure and have been put on Coversyl. I used to drink beer daily however with this news I felt that I should be drinking wine instead. Is there a safe limit or should I try to avoid alcohol all together? Please advise. Thank-you

Hypertensive patient receive treatment to prevent cardio-vascular complication of hypertension. Alcohol is a independent risk factor for cardiac illness. Same time alcohol use lead to fluctuation in blood pressure and poor control of hypertension on treatment. So, in my advice you should avoid alcohol intake all together.
