Is Ablation Advised For Excessive Bleeding With Fibroid?

I am 54yrs old. I have had fibroids for years. I have been bleeding vaginally almost everyday for 2-3 yrs except when I was on Agyestin. I have had a polypectomy.i tried the mirena. I bleed very heavy when I have my period. The other times I have pink to brown discharge. When should I stop having periods? Would an ablation help?

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions. You are in the perimenopause/menopause age group. Since you have no relief from spotting/bleeding throughout, I would ask you to have a proper clinical evaluation and plan further management. I would suggest a hysterectomy instead of an endometrial ablation considering your age and medical history. Hope this helps.
