Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. If you have always been regular with your cycles, this delay should be investigated. Home pregnancy tests read well when performed 3-7 days after a missed period and with a fresh early morning sample. For a better clarification, you can ask for an estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres. Please see a specialist for a proper clinical evaluation and to plan further management. A trans-vaginal sonogram helps to know the status of the pelvic organs and confirm/exclude pregnancy. Hope this helps.
