Is A Heparin Injection Safe To Take During A Pregnancy?
I am 36 weeks pregnant. on midwife check today my pulse rate was over 120 and I havce a hospital appt tomorrow for blood tests and maybe a scan to see if I have pulmanary embolism. They want to give me preventative Heparin just in case it is a clot but it may not be also. I am worried about having the Heparin - what will it do to the baby?

pulmonary embolism is a life threatening condition and so if heparin is needed you should definately go for it. heaprin increases the chances of bleeding but it does not cross placental barrier so it does not cause any harm perse to the baby.
