Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is TENS Unit Advisable For Chronic Pain In Back, Hip And Leg?
I am considering the tens unit being surgically implanted. I know this is minimally invasive surgery. What is the recovery time and restrictions following the surgery. Do they ever have to go back in the unit to do anything to the battery? Are these effective for chronic pain following a back surgery 8 years ago for collapsed vertebrae and titanium spacer with implanted at L4/L5. I have nerve damage and chronic pain in the back, hip, leg and foot.
Tens is definitely advisable but only tens is not sufficient in treating the pain, there must be a proper diagnosis, get your MRI done to get the exact diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
