Is SGPT Value Of 58 A Cause For Concern?

since two months suffering with skin allergy with swellings alll over the body. contacted skin doctors used antifungal, antihelmintics, corticosteroids, etc. no changes. after 2 months blood reports says increased sgpt upto 58. please suggest steps to reduce it.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
SGPT is a marker enzyme for hepatocellular (liver) dysfunction. Its value of 58 IU/L should not be a matter of much concern in case you do not present with jaundice (increased bilirubin levels).
This could have been due to drugs which you have taken for skin disorder as some of them are hepatotoxic.
It would gradually reduce on its own. Completely avoid intake of alcohol (if you are habituated to) or smoking (if you are a smoker). Also avoid intake of high fat and calorie rich foods.
You can take Liv 52 syrup along with Vitamin E and Selenium (antioxidant) capsules to recover soon.
