Hello Doctor. I'm a father for 6 weeks baby boy. We just finished the vaccination for my baby. Doctor asked us weather we would like to go for ROTAVIRUS & PCV1 vaccination at additional cost of 2500 /-Rs. Can you please tell us about its importance.
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. 50% of acute diarrhea in children is caused by Rota virus. Immunistion with Rota virus vaccine prevents diarrhea due to Rota virus in children. PCV prevents Pneumonia and inflammatory pneumococcal disease. Hence if you can afford better get your child vaccinated with PCV and Rota virus vaccine. Rotavirus vaccine prevent rota viral diarrhoea and PCV prevents invasive pneumococcal (bacterial) disease. I suggest you to go ahead with t both the vaccines. Hope my answer was helpful for you.
