Is Neosporin The Right Medicine For Pain And Itchiness In The Vaginal Area?
My daughter just had a vaginally birth, received stitches for a perinatal tear and neglected to come home with the betadine treatment. She s now in a lot of pain and itching. Until we can get to her doctor is it OK to put neosporin with pain reliever on the stitches? Thank you.

Is Neosporin The Right Medicine For Pain And Itchiness In The Vaginal Area?
Hello, It may be due to bacterial vaginosis. Instead of Neosporin, you can apply clotrimazole powder or pessaries locally. Take tablet loratadine for itching. Use v wash. Maintain proper hygiene. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
