Is Mucinex Effective For Chest Congestion With Thick Mucus?
I have congestion in my nose and seem to have alot of thick mucus that feels like it s just stuck in my throat and chest. I feel sick most of the time and a cough as well. My Dr. put me on zpack in May and i felt better for 4-5 wks. should i be on a allergy med and how about Mucinex? Thank You

hello,thanks for your query. mucinex (guiphensin) is used to thin the seceretions of lungs in bronchitis and allergy for certain period. chronic cough should be evaluate for proper diagnosis by xray chest and blood investigation. in case of allergic cough you need to take allergic medication but not mucinex as a course.hope i have answered your query. all the best. take care.
