Is Minigynon Pill The Right Medicine To Avoid Pregnancy?

Hi doc, So I have never taken a contraceptive pill before, however, I ask my doctor to prescribe a pill that could stop my period a bit early. The doctor asked if I had seen my period as yet and I answered no. She then, prescribed minigynon but I think my period will start tomorrow. Is it still safe to use them for this purpose? Will it work?

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Usually it should be started taking 2-3 days prior to expected date of period. But as you feel it might come tomorrow and has actually not come yet, you can give a try by taking the pills. If it is still reversible it would just work.
If it was too late and period starts or spotting occurs then do not continue the medications any further.
I hope I have answered your query well. If you have any more question kindly write back to me, will be happy to help you out.
Thank you
