Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Please don't give Meftal and Calpol alternatively. Meftal causes interstitial nephritis. Calpol is a paracetamol, you can give that but should be given once every 6 hours.

If fever is not reducing, get blood investigations on 3rd day of fever to look for viral illness, bacterial or urinary tract infection. Calpol overdose can cause acute liver failure. Please be careful with medications to reduce fever.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
