Is Levaquin The Right Treatment For Enterobacter Cloacae?
I have fought chronic osteomyelitis of the maxillary and ethmoid sinuses for ten years. Many weeks of IV meds and 9 surgeries. Today my culture came back as Enterobacter cloacae. My ENT consulted with ID doctor and orderd thirty (30) days of Levaquin. Does this seem prudent?

Dear this enterobactria species is resistant to most antibiotics like fluriquinolones, macrolides,beta -lactums,Aminoglycosides, Trimethoprim and sulfa methoxazole.
They are sensitive to imipenum, Meropenem, and polymixin group of antibiotic.
The drug using fluriquinolones group. I think it is mostly not effective to control the Infection.
Please consult your treating ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
