Is HBP And Breathing Problems, A Side Effect From The Levothyroxine?

I started being treated for high blood pressure avg. 170/110 in Oct. 2013. Amlodipine 10 mg and Hydrochlorthiazide 12.5 mg every morning. A month later doctor said thyroid med was needed and put on Levothyroxzine 25 mcg once daily. Also take Venlafaxine 75 mg twice a day. Recently put on potassium 20 and vitamin d 2000iu daily. I am still having high blood pressure. Avg. 160/105 and difficulty breathing. I work as a pharmacy technician and the job is very busy and stressful. Is this a side effect from the levothyroxzine?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your blood pressure keeps being high due to thyroid hormonal imbalance, and the stressful and busy job you have.

Should keep in touch with cardiologist and endocrinologist for specific management.

All the best!
