Is Faronem-200 Safe During Pregnancy To Treat UTI?

Hi Doctor, My wife is 19week pregnant and got UTI pain from past 6days. Out doctor tried L CIN 500 and URIPASS tab for 3days but pain didn’t decreased. Then doctor changed it to FARONEM 200 for 5days. Got little bit relief but pain is still there. Is FARONEM 200MG safe during pregnancy.

Hi,

Faronem looks more safe during pregnancy as compared to L-CIN. L-CIN has some known side effects like developments of joints on fetus, though rarely. However, no known study is available about side effects of Faronem in human during pregnancy.

Still, it is advisable, that any medicine during pregnancy, may always be given under guidance of your doctor, who is the best judge taking into considerations of benefits vs risks as well as other indications or contra-indications in each individual case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
