Is Duphaston Helpful In Case Of Miscarriage?

I'm 9 weeks pregnant, the ultrasound results showed that the baby is dead and has an age of 7-7.5 weeks, no blood discharges yet. The hospital told me to wait a week and that the miscarriage may happen naturally, before being induced! Can I take Duphaston to help? My mother and sisters all had the same case and this medicine helped them a lot.

Hallow Dear,

Please do not take Duphaston. I repeat; Please do not take Duphaston.

Ultrasound has confirmed that the baby in non-viable. So this pregnancy will not continue. Your health care provider has instructed you to wait for about a week for spontaneous abortion. At this stage, if you take Duphaston, this abortion process will be arrested. Duphaston is a progestational medicine which arrests the abortion process. So if you take Duphaston now, you will land into missed abortion; i.e. in spite of non-viable baby, you will not abort.

I would prefer you to get evacuation of the uterus done ASAP as waiting increases the risk of bleeding and infection.
