Is Dexona Tablet Safe In Pregnancy?

Hello Dr, I m 8months pregnant and my doctor gave me Dexona tablets to take. 8tabletsX3 for three days. That these help in the development of the baby s lungs, is it safe? This is my third baby however I did not take them for the previous babies and they are fine.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Every medication during pregnancy has its sode effects, and so doctors only prescribe medications during pregnancy after weigjing the benefits versus the risks.

I am guessing you are predisposed to pretem labour and so your doctor has prescribed dexona to help boost the lung maturity of your baby, to make sure it will survive if at all you do have preterm labour. Please continue as your doctor orders ma'am, and everything shall be fine soon.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
