Is Amlovas-5 And/or S-Numlo-5 A Safe Drug?

I am currently taking Amlor 5 mg daily for several years. This was prescribed to me by my physician in Saudi Arabia. Initially I was taking Diovan (160 mg). It was changed to Exforge (5/160) when my BP remained above 90. Since my BP improved I was switched to Amlor (5mg). I have two questions: (1) I am currently in India. Is it safe to switch to Amlovas-5 and/or S-Numlo-5, which are cheaper and more freely available here? And (2) i still have several packs of Exforge (5/160). Would it harm me if i take this medication for, say, 3-4 months. Appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Hi and thanks for the query

I am Dr. Alok and very pleased to be assisting you with your health questions today.

yes you can switch to Amlovas-5 and/or S-Numlo-5 --- these are safe and effective
exforge also contain amlodepine, so why you want to take extra amlodepine?

If your BP is under control by Amlovas-5 or S-Numlo-5, stick to this only, no need to take exforge. But if it is not control than stop amlovas/numlo and start exforge

Hope this helps and provides answers to your question.
If you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to ask me again
I wish you good health, take care
