Is ALT Level Of 52 A Cause For Concern?

I recently had a full blood count done due to feeling tired a lot. My blood results came back & I needed more doing for liver function. My liver ALT came back at 52, I am not a heavy drinker or take drugs etc. I m currently waiting for my results. I m very worried there s something seriously wrong, should I be? Thanks in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Don't worry for this result

Liver enzymes elevation two times than normal is significant

I advise you to do following work up....
-CBC with PS examination
-USG abdomen
-Serum cholesterol and blood pressure measurement
-Serum bilirubin

According to your report further treatment If needed will be decided

Temporary viral infection or alcohol drinking can lead transient elevation

Repeat ALT after week and based on above report further plan decided

Physician consultation advisable for examination
