Cardiologist 's  Response
hi.definitly its a high BP for any age group. old concepts of a bit higher bp for eg for age 60 is normal ,, is now obsolete. even for diabetics the ideal BP is 110 /75 . but by saying this you need not to worry . get it checked regularly and when you are not under stress or exerted . keep record of it and again emphasizing that check your blood pressure when you are comfortable and at ease . or falsely high BP can be recorded . also consider apparatus fault . try a new mercury bp apparatus . good luck

since normal blood pressure is 120/80 , this is definitely a a case of prehypertension but prior to that the bp should be taken 3 times , in diff. position like sitting, standing & lying downposition, by the same doctor, by the same bp instrument
