Irregular Periods, Spotting.sign For Perimenopause?

I am bleading irregularly starting APril 1 that happens to be my 45th birthday. Starting 1st of April and up to now April 20...I have to use sanitary napkin just in case the blood will come out...pretty much avoiding it to stain my pants. Is this an alarming sign or this is the start of perimenopausal or I am in menopausal cycle?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello

Yes it can be due to perimenopausal cycles due to hormonal changes

You should get one ultrasound done to exclude any fibroid or adenomyosis and to see the endometrial thickness

It is better to get Haemoglobin done

If anaemic then take iron supplements

To control the bleeding progesterone should be taken along with tranexamic acid under doctor's guidance and prescription

Take care

Best wishes
