Irregular Periods During Stress. Abnormal?

Hi Doctor,

kanika here, my periods cycle ranges from 22-25 days approximately but there are few months in between when my periods come back in 20 days like this month i got it at 19th day and this mostly happens when i m stressed due to work and personal issues..is this abnormal?? should i visit a doctor?? and moreover in between this time i didn't have sex(its been 9 months)

I am so sorry to hear about this. Periods of 22-25days are very normal. Periods from 21-35days in duration are all considered to be normal. Out of this range, calls for evaluation. You do not need to see a doctor for any evaluation. It is totally normal to get early periods in times of stress. At times you may even miss your periods if you are stressed and all these are normal and not too uncommon.

I understand you are no tsexually active now. Please, consider using a contraceptive method and protection during sex whenever you become sexually active again.
