Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

PCOS is common endocrine disorders among females. It has menstrual irregularity, Metabolic syndrome obesity, Insulin resistance, and acne and hirsutism like excessive growth of hairs.

The Meprate is given by Gynecologist for menstrual irregularity and should be taken under supervision of Gynecologist.

Treatment involves Lowering of insulin resistance levels
1)Restoration of fertility

2)Treatment of hirsutism or acne

3)Restoration of regular menstruation, and prevention of endometrial
hyperplasia a.

Diet and exercise are important to maintain near ideal weight.
There are medical management for insulin resistance and hormonal therapy for irregular menses and infertility.

Please visit a Gynecologist and take proper treatment.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
Good Luck.

OBGYN Dr. Shanti Vennam's  Response
Hello,
PCOS is on the rise now-a-days just like other hormonal disorders like diabetes and hypothyroidism. It responds very well to treatment, especially early on. Meprate can be used for some time, but prolonged use may not be advisable owing to the vascular side effects of any progestogen or estrogen. A complete assessment along with Metformin to reduce insulin resistance which is a common feature in PCOD, weight management, proper diet and regular exercise help to solve the problem in the majority. Yoga also can be helpful. I cannot comment on the efficacy of homeopathy or ayurveda. Hope this helps.
