Irregular And Inconsistent Bowels With Bloating. Prescribed Maylox However Exlax Giving More Relief. How To Treat This?
Bowel movements vary - sometimes fairly normal, other times small chunks, other times thin strips ... but I never feel satisfied after. Usually I feel bloated. Also sometimes cannot urinate enough then will in a few hours. Have been taking fiber daily which sometimes helps. Doc suggested Maylox which produces in a few days but never enough. ExLax seems to be the only thing that helps (take 2 tablets and will have 5 or so decent movements the next day) but I know I should not use that regularly. Any thoughts?
Probably you are suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. You need proper clinical examination and investigations. Investigations include routine hemogram,RBS,LFT Ultrasound of abdomen, Stool(routine and microscopic examination),Urine(RE/ME). There is no specific treatment for irritable bowel syndrome. Treatment is phychological therapy, diet alteration and medicines in selected cases. You shouldn't depend much on laxatives. You should increase your physical activity and take plenty of fibres in diet. Take plenty of liquid also. Get well soon.
