Infant Having Fever, Diagnosed With Borderline Typhoid, Have Widal Test Report. Need Online Doctor
Hi,my son is 1 year 9 months old.he is running down with fever from last 16 days.he has been diagnosed with borderline typhoid .his widal test shows salmonella typhi H 1:640,salmonella typhi o is 1:80.his dr prescribed him zifi 100 in 12 hrs gap along with Cronin 6 hrs gap.do I need to take second opinion or should continue with same treatment.waiting for your reply. regards Puja.

You don't need any second opinion.
Crocin is rightly given for fever.

i understand your concern regarding child
in typhoid fever according to guideline child have to be treated cefixime for 7 to 14 days
doctor have done the same thing.
typhoid is systemic disease it will take some time to respond to antibiotics.
even fever is not decreasing on cefixime after 14 days you might have to consult your doctor and change antibiotics because in some area these bacteria are becoming resistant to drug
