General & Family Physician, Dr. Ramakant's Response
Dear customer,
The red eye associated with crust in the morning is likley to be due to the infecton of the conjunctiva which may be due to the bacterial or viral cause.
The antibiotic eye drop like ciplox, oflox, gentamicicin, chlramphenicol etc may be required to be put in every 3-4 hrs.
The antibiotic eye ointment like chloramphenicol can also be used at night time to control the bacterial infection.
It may take 3-5 days for the complete cure.
You may consult your doctor/ophthalmologist for these prescription drugs.
Thank you
