In early fifties, having extremely irregular periods, scanty flow, slight cramping during menses. Cause?

Hi. For 2 years and 3 months I had no period. Then 6 months ago I started bleeding and have had a period regularly for the last 6 months. It is very light using only 1 pantyliner a day. I am relatively young at 47. The only other symptom I have is very slight cramping during bleeding. My doctor (not gyn) is not concerned but I am very concerned. What should I do about it.

HI, WELCOME TO HEALTHCARE MAGIC. THIS IS NOTHING BUT MENOPAUSAL SYNDROME THAT IS NORMAL AT THIS AGE. SO NOTHING WORRY ABOUT IT. YOU MAY CONSULT A GYNEACOLOGIST FOR YOUR CRAMPING PROBLEM. HE MAY ADVISED YOU TO TAKE FEW MEDICINES. SO CHEAR UP AND CONGRATULATION FOR RELATIVELY YOUNG. KEEP IT.
