I'm A Little Confused. My Respirologist Said I Have Hypersensitive

I'm a Little confused. My respirologist said I have hypersensitive airways that produce gobs of mucous due to allergies and that he figures I have some emphysema. My family doc said that i have long lungs from being tall, and that all people with long lungs have some emphysema. If that's the case, why bother saying I have some emphysema? I thought long lungs are also normal? Can you explain further? I am on many puffers including spiriva respimat, but I think many lung disorders use whatever inhalers work for them.
