If The Billirubin Levels Are 3.5 Mg/dl Suggests Gilbert Syndrome?

Hi, I am 25 years old. I just had a regular blood test and all were normal except my billirubin levels which were at 3.4 mg/dl. My doctor suggested that I have Gilberts syndrome but I should do an other blood test for my billirubin levels after I have eaten something to check if my billirubin levels dropped just to make sure that I have Gilberts syndrome. What is your opinion?

Respected user, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
* Only bilirubin 3.5mg/dl is not confirmatory to stamp it as GS.
* In Gilbert syndrome unconjugated bilirubin is elevated while conjugated
bilirubin is usually within normal range & less than 20% of the toal.
* Confirmatory tests are also available as PCR ( detecting DNA mutations of
UGT1A1 )
* Differential diagnosis are : - hemolysis - viral hepatitis - cholestasis -
autoimmune recessive disorders etc.
* yes can go ahead for repeat tests also.
