I am having my thyroid removed in a week due to the RET Proto Oncogene, my mother says she can't drink alcohol since her surgery. I am a social drinker, and enjoy my social outings with close friends and family. Is it normal to have issues drinking alcohol after the procedure? I don't mean immediately following the surgery, I am talking a few months down the road. Thank you for your advice..
