Hypoechoic Nodule In The Ultrasound After Total Thyroidectomy. Worried. Had Papillary Cancer

I had a total thyroidectomy a year ago and my follow-up ultrasound indicates a left lobectomy level 6 hypoechoic nodule. It goes on to say that this finding is of little clinical significance. No significant lateral compartment adenopathy was identified. No convincing local recurrence or cervical lymphadenopathy identified. Should I be concerned about the hypoechoic nodule? My endocrinologist said at the time of surgery that margins were good and lymph node closest to thyroid was benign. I did have some cancer in lymphatic vessel within thyroid but was told it did not spread. My cancer was Stage 1 Papillary Cancer. Thank you

Dear Ma'am/ Sir,

Sorry to hear about your problem. This hypoechoic nodule can either be a small nodule in the remaining thyroid gland or a very small lymph node, which is of little significance if there is no increased vascularity or solid component.
You should just follow this up with another scan after three months.

Hoping for the best
