Hurt Index Knuckle, Swelling Gone, Fingers Sore. Twisting Motion In Finger And Knuckle Is Painful

I hurt my right index knuckle about 3 weeks ago trying to open my daughters locker at school for her. It was swollen for about 3 days. Now swelling is gone but finger is still very sore. Doesnt hurt to move normally but cant open anything because the twisting motion in my finger and knuckle kills me. And I still get shooting pains in it about once every day

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I would suggest to get an x ray of hand done to rule out hair line fracture of metacarpal bone. In hair line fracture, swelling may not be present for a long time. Persistent pain raises suspicion of fracture. Please get an x ray done and get in touch with an orthopedician for further treatment.

thanks.
