Hurt Around Knee, Like Elastic Band Around Leg, Throbbing. Any Suggestions ?

Hi - I have hurt around my knee - feels like an elastic band around my leg - my leg gives way sometimes-throbs and its been like this since March - been to doctor and he told me to take Panadol four times a day - didn't want to go that way!
I cycle to try and build my muscle up - swim every day at the beach pool.
Any suggestions?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

First you need X-rays of knee joint in AP/Lateral view.It can detect bony injury.
If it is fine, you should go for MRI of your knee joint, as there is chance of soft tissue injury. It can exclude cruciate ligament injury, meniscus injury etc.
For the time being you can continue with pain killers.

Take Care
