Hello
Wysolone is prednisolone and your mother is taking only 5 mg and still drug dependence .
When such patient visit I prescribe my patient deflazacort 30 mg once in a week .
If still patient complaint about these symptoms as mentioned in your query twice in day administer deflazacort ( Monday & Thursday ) .
Keep this treatment for 2-3 months
If twice in a week add one placebo ( calpol 500 mg ) on Thursday i.e. taper off Thursday's dose of defcort.
After 2-3 months same placebo like calpol 500 mg on Monday and defcort on alternate MONDAY .
In this way she can get rid of this wysolone .
Hope you have understand this .
Defcort ( deflazacort ) is most potent and safe but drug dependence is very very less in comparison to wysolone.
