Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been to a Naturopath and discovered that my medicine of: Amlodipine is not good for my body. I already take two other blood pressure pills. My question for you is it safe to go off or should I wean off slowly? I plan on counseling with my internist before making this decision, but wanted a 2nd opinion. Thank you I will go to my own doctor...Thanks but I am not going to pay for this info.
If you have been taking it for a long time it is advised that it is slowly tapered and stopped because suddenly stopping can cause chest pain and increased blood pressure. It is def advised that you consult your doctor to look at alternative treatment or keep a close eye with regular blood pressure monitoring to see if an extra drug is needed
