How To Understand And Deal A Person With Schizophrenia?

We have a lovely daughter of the heart who is 40 and lives with us now. We are now partnering with her concerning her bipolar and schizophrenia disorders. We are learning to be a family together. We need to know more about this partnership. We are in our 60 s with a great deal of responsibility already. We need to know what to expect about expectations of daily personal maintenance in our home for her and our household. She has been on permanent disability for a long time and is on medication. We are still learning to recoqnize what her symptoms look like.

Psychologist Dr. K. V. Anand's  Response
Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. Schizophrenia is a difficult mental disease. From the given description I am unable to know which type of schizophrenia your daughter have. The interaction with any schizophrenic patient is supposed to be with caution. You should let them live their life. Interference may cause hate. Whenever she needs your help, she will ask you. You may observe her, but do not interfere. You may advise her, but do not repeat more than two times.

Psychotherapy techniques should suit your requirement. If you require more of my help in this aspect, Please post a direct question to me in this URL. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Make sure that you include every minute details possible. I shall prescribe the needed psychotherapy techniques.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
