How To Understand A Mammogram?

I got a mammogram back that stated: Approximately 9 mm size focal asymmetry may be present in

the upper MLO view of the right breast. Approximately 10 mm focal

asymmetry may be present in the inner right breast on the CC view,

which may or may not correspond with the focal asymmetry seen on the

right MLO view. Further evaluation with CC and MLO spot compression

views and possible ultrasound are recommended. I will be going back in. Is this something that should be concerning?

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.The mediolateral oblique (MLO) view, cranio-caudal ( head to toe way) These are standard mammographic views
2.There is a lesion noted in the both views about 10mm. Which means there is lesion in the breast - but could not be characterise due to some reasons.
3.So its requested for a spot compression same views to repeat.
4.Its always recommended to have an ultrasound breast - to evaluate the nature (solid, cystic, ductal) of the lesion, its source and extensions.
5.There is nothing said that its a cancerous / malignant so hope the best and get the investigation - ultrasound and mammogram done.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
