How To Treat Mild Spotting Between Periods And Mild Bouts Of Cystitis?

Me and my partner have been together for nearly 4 years. I was tested just before sleeping with him, but managed to contract chlamydia from him. I luckily caught it early (a month or so later) and we both took the full antibiotic treatment. We were told there was no need for a re test but I had one a few months later and it came back negative.

I get mind spotting once or twice a month between periods and occasional mild bouts of cystitis like symptoms. This has made me question whether my partner never getting retested could mean he still had it and therefore reinfected me. What are the chances of this of we didn't have sexual contact for 2 weeks during treatment and I also tested negative? I'm such a worry guts and can't get to the gum clinic until next week, but the idea of still having this awful disease is consuming me.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Spotting in between periods is not characteristic of Chlamydial infection.
Spotting in between periods is a normal in healthy menstruating females.
Ovulation is sometimes accompanied by spotting and the spotting that you are experiencing could be associated with ovulation.
Re-testing for Chlamydia by you and your partner is desired thus, counsel your husband for re-testing for Chlamydia.
Urine examination is required if you are suspecting cystitis.
In case there is evidence of infection on urine examination, appropriate antibiotic will be required.
Consult your primary healthcare provider for urine work up and get your husbands re-test for Chlamydia.

Thanks and take care
