Kidney disease is a common cause of swelling of legs. If the kidneys are not working well they cannot get rid of the excess fluids and toxins from the body, this causes swelling to occur.
If the kidney disease is reversible then treatment of the kidneys would help with the swelling. The only way to reduce the swelling would be to determine the cause of the kidney problem
In some cases, the kidneys cannot be improved because the changes are permanent.
I hope this helps
