How To Treat Cough,excess Mucus And Chest Rash?

hi,i have been sick with cough w excess,mucus,a rash developed on chest ,and back,i also haveon elbow s. I also have red swollen fingernail beds.On my pointer and index finger i got rash and just above top crease there is a small dot that I can pick w a tweezer,have gone for 3 cat scans going back to doc on Tuesday,says its not lupus.connective tissue disease.its really getting old,starting to get fatigue .lost bout 10 pnds.Doc is ok,but its like a month between visits any ideas I can ask him bout.i have taken 2 rounds of antibiocs, been on inhaler,just got off predisone,cough is back up but it productive,but im slow moving.been going on 5 months,since December.any insight would be great 53yr old female lori

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
If connective disease is ruled out and since your CT chest are normal as told by you, no need to worry for lung infection.
Possibility of bronchitis is more in your case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) with lung volumes and DLCO.
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
Now since rashes are not your problem and cough id only issue now it should delt with.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
