How To Treat Brain Tumor Between The Cella And The Brain Stem?

Hello, I have a small brain tumor on the left between the cella and the brain stem. Could this cause my vascular system to be less responsive? I have a severe case of POTS, diagnosed at the Cleveland Clinic, and I have been having increased palpitations and SVT which is controlled with Flecainide. Thanks, Dave

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the tumor between cella and brain stem can be presenting with various clinical features as:
- Focal neurologic signs
- Limb weakness, paresthesia
- Balance issues
- Vertigo and tinnitus sensation
- Abnoramlities of pupillary reflex
- Ischemia of the part of brain tissue as there may be vascular compromise through tumor suppression of intracranial blood vessels
- Convulsions or seizures in many cases
- Memory issues if involving hippocampus region

Treatment depends upon the lesion location, whether it is involving major brain structures or not. The stereotactic surgical intervention, laser ablation, focused radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy in case of palliative care are various available options for the case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
