How To Treat Asthma Attack In A 5 Years Old Child?
Hello, my son who is 5 had his first asthma attack after three days with a cold. The doctor prescribed prednosoline and asthalin, both syrups taken three times a day. He is better, but I just read on the internet that Asthalin should not be taken with prednosoline. Is that true? Does anyone know why if true?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. First I want to alley your fears regarding your kid - 1. 5 years is not an age to diagnose asthma. It could be either multi triggered wheeze or episodic viral wheeze. 2. If it is first time, no harm in using Asthalin as it gives good relief and no harm in taking it along with Prednisolone. 3. Asthalin or any of the medications used for wheezing in any route either oral or inhalational do not cause dependency or make the patient prone for asthma. Actually its the other way round. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
