Hello everyone, I am M/30 yr. Its almost 3 months backI have found some complecacy on left eye upper lid, it is small lump which I have ignored to thick about a pimple. But at the time passes it get larger, I have visited homeopathy as well as allopathy doctors including eye specialists. All are checked and given some medicine and eye drop. Only last week I came to know its chalazion, after visiting an eye speclist and asking many questions. The doctor suggested to operate it because its almost 6mm diameter. Now I have learnt that when ever our skin tissues are pressurized (operate/cut) the near by tissues are intend to grow in high rate which can be caused keloid. I am thinking because a keloid is formed on my chest and under gone steroid injection in every month since last two years. However its not disapeared. please suggest shall I go for an operation for the chalazion?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having a6 mm lump on the eyelid and it is diagnosed as chalazion. The treatment options are intralesional injection of steroid or surgery in the form of incision and curettage. The chalzion surgery is performed from conjunctival side and it may not give raise to keloid formation. However first you can try treatment with intralesional steroid and if it is not responding to this treatment surgery can be considered later.
Thank you
