Now after stopping cetrizine for about two weeks, my sore is still throat and uvula is alsmost touching back of tongue causing sometimes coughing. What should i do?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain the symptoms seems like Viral throat Infection along with a secondary bacterial infection.. The swollen uvula is due to inflammation secondary to infection and the condition is known as UVULITIS. As you have taken Cetrizine which is an anti-allergic medication the relief from the symptoms is not evident.. Nothing to worry, you can take antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Azithromycin for a week. Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily. Avoid spicy, hard and chilled foods. Do warm saline gargles. Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Hope this information helps..
