How To Regularise The Sugar Levels Being A Hypoglycaemia Patient?

I have hypoglycemia. Everyone in my family does for the most part and my father has diabetes. I am about 80 pounds overweight and working on getting myself back down. I started the paleo diet and felt great. I did it for two weeks. Well my sister s wedding happened and I unfolded and reverted back to my bad eating habits, Well now when i eat anything sugary or simple carbs like chips, my blood sugar plummits alot faster then before. Before if I didn t eat for 3 or 4 hours I would start to get dizzy and unable to concintrate and now it happens right after not so healthy food choice. Whats up?

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

There are two basic options for hypoglycemia in diabetes. One is to reduce the dose of the medicine/insulin you are taking. The medicine you take needs to be adjusted to what you are consuming. The reducing of the sugars is basically a balance between sugar intake and the sugar reducing medicines.

The other option is that you increase the slow releasing type of foods. Fibres are a potent group of food which gives you a feeling of fullness and helps maintain sugars. You may try to get back on the diet that was suiting you- you have commented things were looking up on the new diet you tried. So might as well try it again.

I am not sure what medicine you are taking. But if it is insulin, check the syringe and vial and match them. Besides, make sure your technique is correct

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
