How To Reduce Weight While On Zoloft?

Is it possible that I m not losing weight because I m currently taking Zoloft? I haven t gained any excess weight but I can t lose the weight that I already have. I m 29 years old 5 7 and 165 lbs....definitely overweight. I ve been doing the insanity workout videos for a straight month and doing my best to eat right and I still haven t lost any significant weight or inches. Any thoughts?

I can understand your concern. Zoloft is Sertraline and the drug is a SSRI drug. The drug is known to cause weight gain so in obese individuals the drug should be used in controlled doses preferably. You are 29 and are gaining weight while on this drug so in such case other SSRI drug like Fluoxetine can be used. The drug doesn't cause much weight gain if we compare it with other SSRIs. If even on changing weight doesn't reduce then other medicines like Topiramate can be used. Topiramate is a mood stabiliser drug and the drug will help to reduce the weight and will also supplement the actions of Zoloft. You can visit a psychiatrist for proper prescription of the drugs.
