How To Reduce Coughing After Bowl Of Cereal Went Down Wrong Pipe?

My husband was drinking the last of a bowl of cereal and felt something go down the wrong pipe but he did not choke on anything. However he is coughing a lot and can t seem to cough anything up. How long should he wait until he sees a dr? YYYY@YYYY

Coughing would help to expelled out the cereal which was aspirated. Coughing could continue for few minutes and it could even last for few hours. There's nothing to worry about. And also before seeing a doctor you should make sure that you are in a comfortable position. Lying on your tummy would give some relief and then you must see a doctor as soon as possible so there are no further complications.
