How To Recognise Implantation Bleeding?

i recently had my period which normally lasts 3-4 days but this time lasted 2 days and was quite heavy. i am sexually active and had my boyfriends genitals come in contact with mine about 2 weeks before my period in question. is there any likelyhood that this 2 day heavy bleeding could have been implantation bleeding?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I can understand your concern.
- Implantation bleeding is due to burrowing of fertilized egg in uterine cavity.
- It occurs after 10-11 days of fertilization.
- It starts few days earlier than normal menses.
- The bleeding is in faint/pinkish -reddish spotting form ,& lasts maximally for 2 days.
- It is not associated with pain, cramps, profuse bleeding.
Looking at above criteria, your bleeding does not seem to be implantation bleeding.
Still if you have doubt ,blood HCG test can exclude it.
Thanks.
