How To Prepare For A Colonoscopy Surgery?

I am prepping for a colonoscopy tonight and drank the 1st 1/2 batch of mixture four hours ago. It doesnt feel like very much was released and I am real bloated. Do you know what this could mean? I have to drink the 2nd 1/2 batch tomorrow at 5am.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This is something called coloprep. It’s something like a laxative and it has to be taken on the day before surgery. It cleanses your bowel so that we can visualise the bowel well.

You have to take the coloprep as advised because it helps to get accurate results. If bowel preparation is adequate, a repeat scopy may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
